Helmet requirement

Helmets have been mandatory on motorcycles and mopeds in the Netherlands for some time now. However, as of January 1, 2023, they will also be mandatory on mopeds and scooters with a blue license plate. This helmet is perfect for this because it complies with all regulations, offers a good price, and is extremely comfortable.

Certificate

The helmet is fully NTA 8776 and CE certified, meaning it fully complies with legislation and safety requirements. Since 2017, despite the moped helmet requirement, helmets that meet the requirements set out in NTA 8776 may also be used. A helmet that complies with NTA 8776 resembles a bicycle helmet, but is designed for higher impact speeds and protects a larger area of the head. Compared to a bicycle helmet, this helmet offers more protection, particularly for the temples and the back of the head.
